Profile
Khurram Rashid, the Firm's Lead Counsel, is a Barrister-at-Law of Lincoln's Inn. He completed his LLB (Hons) at the University of Buckingham, UK, took his corporate electives at McGill University, Canada, and undertook an advanced advocacy training course at Keble College, Oxford.
He has been in active practice for over 30 years, handling thousands of corporate transactional and hard-core litigation matters. Because there is no professional divide between barristers and solicitors in Pakistan, he has been able to advise clients on corporate and commercial deals, protection of IP, employee matters, and carriage of goods and persons by sea and air, while maintaining a regular litigation practice before the courts and dispute resolution forums of Pakistan.
He was a partner at Surridge & Beecheno for 10 years before setting up KLegal as a boutique, highly specialised and avant-garde practice with a focus on responsiveness and cost-efficiency. He sits on the Small Dispute Resolution Committee constituted under section 117 of the Insurance Ordinance 2000, the forum where complaints against insurers are adjudicated. A Certified Director of the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance, he has served as director and secretary of private and public listed companies and as trustee of several charitable trusts, and has sat on the editorial board of the Sindh Balochistan Law Reporter.
Khurram has been heavily involved in legal education and training, teaching on LLB and LLM programmes at various law colleges and serving as a trainer on the Advocacy Training Programme of Pakistan conducted in collaboration with the Bar Council of England & Wales.
